Berkshire’s incredible villages where life is completely different to the bustling towns

One of the many great things about living in Berkshire is that in just minutes you can get out of the urban town centres and into the peaceful surroundings of the countryside.

Or Hurley, a delightful and largely undiscovered village by the Thames, in no time at all.

Even in Slough, often seen as something of an urban sprawl, you’re only a stone’s throw from the Grand Union Canal and villages like Datchet and Eton.

The west of the county is choc-full of fascinating and beautiful villages on the outskirts of towns like Hungerford and Newbury.
