The course runs along the River Thames under the watchful eye of Windsor Castle. This is a nine-hole course, with fifteen tees, so only three holes are repeated on the back nine. As a relatively flat parkland course, it is also easy walking and provides an enjoyable day’s golf for all golfers, irrespective of age and handicap.
Ascot Golf Club was founded by local Barrister F.J. Patton in 1887, and given Royal status by Queen Victoria later that year. Many of her children learned to play golf at Royal Ascot and The Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII, was patron of the club in 1901
