A new 24-hour Greggs could be built at a Berkshire service station if plans are approved.
A total of 19 parking spaces would be lost if the plans are approved – with five coach parking spaces also moved to elsewhere at the service station.
In a planning statement, the developers said: “The applicant seeks permission for the erection of a new drive thru food outlet, to be operated by Greggs, together with an associated drive thru lane.
“This proposed building will replace existing carparking and coach parking spaces. The building will provide sufficient space to serve the drive thru customers, as well as accommodate a small amount of customer seating.”
It added: “The purpose of the drive thru is to provide an alternative to the main food court for customers. Atbusy times it also provides additional capacity to the food and beverage offer at the site.”
West Berkshire Council is set to make a decision on the application in the coming weeks.
