Supermarkets recall Greggs bakes, Nutella bars and more over safety fears

Often our supermarkets need to recall certain products over fears that they may not be safe for customers to eat.

While it’s very easy to not think of it as a big deal, it actually is and customers are always urged to keep an eye on the latest product recalls and return them to the supermarket where they bought the item from.

Customers will likely be then given a full refund – and you don’t often need your receipt.

The Food Standards Agency will often issue alerts on behalf of the supermarkets.

In the latest product recall, items from Asda, Tesco and Morrisons have all be recalled for various reasons. Items from Greggs and Nutella that are also sold in the supermarkets are being recalled.

Here are all the latest product recalls and what you should do if you have bought them:

Greggs Vegetable Bakes

Best before: 26 September 2021, 12 September 2021, 11 September 2021, 28 August 2021, 15 August 2021, 31 July 2021, 25 July 2021, 5 July 2021, 4 July 2021, 27 June 2021 and 19 June 2021

Greggs is recalling its Vegetable Bakes (2 pack) as the product may contain small pieces of green glass which presents a safety risk.

The product is sold via Icelands stores and point of sales notices have been displayed in all Iceland stores as a result.

If you have this product you should not consume it and instead return it to the Iceland store where you bought it from for a full refund.

This has not be emphasized in bold type on the label.

If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

Morrisons is recalling Nutella Ferrero B-ready (6 Pack) because they contain barley and/or wheat (gluten), milk, hazelnut (nuts), and soya which are not listed in English on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to barley, and/or wheat (gluten), and/or milk or milk constituents, and/or an allergy to nuts, and/or soya.

All packs bought from Morrisons with label information in Polish are affected.

If you have bought the above product and have an allergy and/or intolerance to any of the allergens listed above, do not eat the product. Instead return it to Morrisons for a full refund.

Marks and Spencer is taking the precautionary action of recalling M&S Stuffed Medjool Date Selection (350g) because they might be contaminated with Hepatitis A.

This product might be contaminated with Hepatitis A. Symptoms caused by Hepatitis A usually include fever, nausea, abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, dark-coloured urine and jaundice (a yellowing of the skin).
