Offering a range of tasty dishes including homemade burgers, pies and a vegetarian butternut squash curry – there is sure to be something for everyone if you visit.

Phil attributed the consistency and friendly service at the pub to why they have such good ratings.

While he appreciates that the food is very important to customers, the level of customer care is an aspect he is proud of.

Phil believes that the warm and welcoming atmosphere at the pub attracts people to come back.

Speaking to BerkshireLive , Phil said: The genuine warm welcome for people is very important, not just as customers, but as people who we know and chat to and want to come and see us.”

The menu is printed daily depending on what the pub has fresh in that day – so you could see a completely different menu from one day to next, so multiple visits are a must.

Over the pandemic, the restaurant was so popular with locals for takeaways that on some nights it was serving between 90 and 100 portions of fish and chips to hungry customers.

The Fox at Peasemore won the Great British Pub award for the best community restaurant in the UK, and used the prize money to help redevelop their outside patio area.

Phil continued: “We had to use some of our own money to complete the transformation but it helped us push on with investing in the business.”

Now with over 1,000 five-star reviews on TripAdvisor, with many visitors praising the “fabulous” and “divine” food, the restaurant is officially the best in Berkshire.

Phil added: “TripAdvisor and the other rating sites are very important to us as it is how word gets out. It is very important that we take that seriously and try to get up as far as we can.

“It’s nice that we are number one at the moment.”
