Coppa Club Sonning is not your average restaurant. For one it has magical igloos in its garden where customers can eat and drink. Open every day of the week, guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner there.
Located right on the banks of the River Thames, the views are stunning, the garden is idyllic and the dazzling pods feel super exclusive. For anyone who fancies dining with a difference, this is certainly it.
Each igloo is kitted out with a cooling system for warm days and heater for cool nights. There is also an individual music system to set the mood and blankets to keep you cosy. Each pod seats up to eight people and can be booked any day of the week.
Unsurprisingly, the igloos are very popular so you have to book them in advance, and if you want a reservation after 11am, there is a minimum spend of £25 per person. Perfect for a date night, family meal or special occasion, they are a unique way to have a meal overlooking the rippling water.
If you can’t get an igloo reservation for when you want, you can dine inside the trendy restaurant or on the heated terrace which also has panoramic views of the garden and swans bobbing on the River Thames.
As well as serving a brilliant range of hot meals at lunch and dinner time including burgers, hand-stretched pizzas, fish, steak and vegan dishes, customers can also enjoy a spot of breakfast at the Berskshire beauty spot.
Open from 7.30am Monday to Friday and 8am at weekends, there is a brilliant breakfast menu and weekend brunch offering. For breakfast, you will see the likes of crushed avocado and eggs, artisan pastries, buckwheat and rye pancakes, sourdough with jams and yoghurt and granola.
There is of course the classic Skillet Breakfast for £12.50, which comes with two fried eggs, Cumberland sausage, bacon, black pudding, mushroom, tomato, baked beans and toast. For vegetarians, there is the Garden Breakfast at £11.50, loaded with two fried eggs, grilled halloumi, portobello mushroom, tomato, greens and toast.
On Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays from 10.30am until 3pm, visitors can tuck into the likes of the above, but also dishes from the main menu including a club Caesar salad, wild prawn spaghetti, Tuscan sausage ragu, sea reared trout, farm reared English chicken and dry aged steaks.
You can wash it all down with a lovely latte or creamy cappuccino, or if you fancy a boozy start to the weekend, one of Coppa Club’s signature cocktails or glass of fizz.
