The Marist School in Ascot celebrates ‘excellent’ rating

An Ascot school is celebrating after being rating ‘Excellent’ in all areas by the Independent Schools Inspectorate.

Through the Marist School in Sunninghill, pupils are “successful, independent, and collaborative learners,” according to the report.

The inspectorate found that students were making rapid progress in developing knowledge, skills and understanding as a result of the “supportive and collaborative” learning environment.

Principal Jo Smith said: “This is a wonderful report and reflects the strengths of our Marist community.

“By talking to pupils, staff, parents, and leadership, the Inspectors recognised the excellence in what we do every day in all aspects of life here at The Marist.

“We will now look forward to building on this outcome so that we can continue to offer first-class education for all pupils of all ages at The Marist.”

Inspectors visited the independent Catholic day school for girls between 30 November to 3 December 2021 to conduct a Focused Compliance Inspection combined with an Inspection of Educational Quality.

The Educational Quality Inspection focuses on two key outcomes; the achievement of the pupils, including their academic development, and the personal development of the pupils, both of which were awarded the highest possible grading.

The School also met all standards in the Compliance Inspection.
