Wendy’s UK menu ahead of first restaurant opening in Reading

UK Wendy’s customers will have a range of treats to tuck into once the country’s first store in Reading opens.

The US fast-food giant has revealed its UK menu will have a range of exclusive items, as well as the classics from America like the formidable Baconator.

The restaurant is set to open on Wednesday, June 2, at the new unit on the corner of Friar Street and Station Road in Reading town centre.

The company has announced the menu will feature the Baconator, the Dave’s Single, and for the truly hungry, the Dave’s triple. Other items include the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, as well as a range of the chain’s famous square burgers.

The famous Frosty desserts, which are apparently great for dipping chips in, are also on the way in chocolate and vanilla flavours.

In the UK, there a range of new vegetarian items coming to the menu.

The veggie stack, made with black beans, grains, vegetables, herbs and spices, will be on the menu and in the classic square style, as well as veggie bites and avocado veggie salad.

Sides will also include Chilli con Carne, Baconator fries and baked potatoes.

The company says it is focused on high-quality ingredients and promises its burgers will feature 100 per cent British Beef.

Paul Hilder, senior vice president, UK and Canada managing director, said: “We can’t wait for the British public to try our menu when the doors open to our Reading restaurant on June 2.

“The signature Wendy’s items that fans know and love are there, but you will also see a few new additions just for our British customers.

“With Wendy’s you can guarantee you’ll get freshly prepared, high-quality ingredients in everything we serve. Get ready for the best burger out there – square, fresh off the grill and made to order.”

The new restaurant will also feature a full breakfast menu for customers before 10.30am, with items including The Breakfast Baconator, Croissant Sandwiches, and the Classic Egg and Cheese Sandwich, as well as coffee options including flat whites, cappuccinos and lattes.

Items are made to order and everything on the menu can also be customised.
