Restaurants are announcing their Christmas menus left, right and centre as businesses battle for your patronage following a treacherous year for hospitality.
When it comes to a budget meal, Wetherspoons is a firm favourite amongst many Brits.
The brand has announced three new dishes for the 2021 festive season, but you’ll need to hurry if you want to get your hands on them – once December 24 rolls around, they’ll be scrubbed from the menu once again.
First up, Wetherspoons has launched its ‘big cheese burger’ – an indulgent festive feast that is bound to strike fear into those living with lactose intolerance.
There are three cheeses packed into the meal – blue, brie and halloumi.
The dairy delights are placed alongside a burger of your choice, including two separate vegetarian options.
Next – continuing with the cheese theme – the brie and bacon burger will be making a grand return.
Customers may be disappointed if they’re looking for a full Christmas dinner as Wetherspoons has rejected calls to add a festive roast to its menu.
However, the chicken and stuffing panini might be the next best thing.
Of course, no Christmas dish is truly complete without pigs in blankets. The seasonal side dish is back on the menu and can be added to any meal.
However, one festive favourite won’t be returning this year. The Baileys bread and butter pudding has been booted off the menu. Instead, restaurant-goers can enjoy snowy rocky road dessert – Belgian chocolate bar jam-packed with cherries, marshmallows and sultanas, served with vanilla ice cream and all the sugary sauces you can think of.
